I've been like this forever.

I don't even know how it began.

I used to be so free. The world was filled with possibilities.

I embraced my intuition.

I made my dreams manifest. I remember when people would say "I have no idea how you do these things, and so quickly."

Now, I am tired constantly.

Emotionally and physically.

I have a list of things I have to do that never ends.

I can't even find my excitement, my fire, my passion anymore.

I don't remember who I am. I can barely remember who I used to be.

I don't have time to be myself.

Honoring myself? I don't even understand what that is really.

How am I supposed to honor myself when no one else does?

I'm the reliable, practically invisible (unless someone needs something from me), superwoman that supports everyone. Even people I have no idea how I got saddled with.

No? What is no? It's an excuse for other people to drill into me how I HAVE to support them. Because that's what you're here for.

OK, feeling the pain yet? I'm sure you are.

That's the secret...

You are not meant to be fixed. You are NOT broken.

You are meant to remember who you truly are.

The girl who could fall into a world when writing a story.

The girl who was fearless, or at least believed in feeling the fear and doing it anyway was her core mantra in life.

The girl who expected to build a business that was world known. Even though you didn't know what the business was or would be.

The girl that lived in awe of nature and loved hiking, biking, photography.

The girl who wanted to make a difference and save the world.

You are still in there. Begin by taking 10 minutes (don't tell me you can't, you know if you want something badly enough, you WILL find a way to get 10 minutes back in your day).

Take 10 minutes and focus on a time in life where you felt the possibilities were endless. Where you have all the time, energy, passion and drive you could imagine.

Where synchronicity was the stones you jumped on across the streams and rivers in life.

Where you only saw your goal, and you forgot to look down at how far you could fall.

Too hard to stay focused?

Take a sheet of blank paper, make a clock on it. Write the hours 1-12 on the inside of the circle. Make the circle large enough that you can draw a short line out of the clock next to each number where you will write an answer to this single thought:

Why I love... You need to fill in the rest.

Why I love going out to the forest on a hike.

Why I love going out with my friend Jen.

Why I love feeling...

Why I love winning the lottery...

(Inspired yet?) Then take numbers 1 -12 and at each number fill out the FEELING of the success. The excitement. The peace. The joy. The love.

This takes you to your power. Your memories of success.

Remembering is your key to coming home to yourself.

Depending on who you ask, it takes 30 seconds to begin to manifest, others say 67 seconds, others 90 seconds and so on.

It's not about the amount of time. It's about getting back to remembering the power locked inside of you. Maintaining that energy, that power, those possibilities. Awakening yourself...again, to the Self-Honoring Woman.

Close your eyes and think about this.

You've just had a beautiful day, the sun is warm, breeze cool and gentle, everything is quiet.

You feel at peace and relaxed.

You come in your home for dinner and there are a bunch of loud banshees running around, loud voices, banging, crashing, and intrusive, negative energy that seems to permeate everywhere.

You realize you cannot speak. You cannot shout "Be quiet!" or "Go away!" This happens day after day.

Did you feel yourself getting heavy? Tired? Kind of depressed? Just stressed in general?

When people come in after work, after dropping of their children to events, driving through heavy traffic, etc. They exude tension, anxiety, depression, and a bit of mania. (One example of many...)

The spiderweb of emotions. Emotions are energy. Just like an insect caught in a sticky spider web, you are caught and tangled in the energy all around you. It impacts you in either small or large ways. Short term or long. It impacts you as it does them.

Do this exercise.

Take a deep breath in.

Hold it.

Squeeze every muscle in your body from your toes to your forehead.

Count to 5.

Exhale.

Repeat.

Inhale.

Flex and squeeze all your muscles. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Exhale.

Repeat for a total count to 5.

Now most people tend to stop around 3 when they get tired or out of breath. Please don't. The key is to continue past that point to the 5th round.

Now, how do you feel?

Tired?

Calmer?

Quieter?

More relaxed?

Has your mind stopped racing?

You will find that you are no longer enveloped in everyone else's energy. You can enjoy the quiet time as the world around you remains beyond you.

You will focus better.

Be a more relaxed.

I have used this exercise for people who suffer with anxiety. But it works beautifully for people who live more 'in their heads'.

Changing Their World by Expanding Yours
